Agência de Transporte do Estado de São Paulo (Artesp) in Brazil has launched a public consultation for airport concessions. The project includes the development, operation, and maintenance of 22 airports located in Sao Paulo state.
The project is divided into two lots: Northwest lot with 13 airports and Southeast lot with 9 airports. The concessionaire will be responsible for the operation and initial construction works for all the airports in one lot.
Northwest lot includes commercial airports located at Presidente Prudente, Aracatuba, and Barretos as well as aerodromes located at Avare-Arandu, Assis, Dracena, Votuporanga, Penapolis, Tupa, Andradina, Presidente Epitacia, and Sao Manuel. The estimated investment for this lot is BRL 177 million (US$ 31.63 million), out of which BRL 63 million (US$ 11.26 million) will be invested in the first three years of the concession.
Southeast lot includes commercial airports located at Marilia, Bauru, Araraquara, and Franca. The estimated investment for this lot is BRL 233 million (US$ 41.64 million), out of which BRL 88 million (US$ 15.72million) will be invested in the first three years of the concession.
The concession period for the project is 30 years and works and operation investment is estimated at BRL 700 million (USD 125 million). Currently the airports are operated and managed by Sao Paulo State Air Department.
Contributions for the consultation phase may be submitted by May 21. The public consultation process will take part online on May 12, 2020. You can find more information and register here.
