The ministry of infrastructure in Brazil has announced plans to move forward with the concession process for Ferrograo railway concession in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. The ANTT will present the project to the Federal Audit Court (TCU) in May 2020. TCU will decide the concession procurement method for the project.

The Ferrogrão railway concession includes development of a 933 km long railway line connecting Mato Grosso and Pará. The concession will provide railway line connecting the grain-producing region of the Midwest to the State of Pará, ending at the Port of Miritituba.
