The Municipality of Curitiba in Parana, Brazil has launched a tender notice seeking a private partner to modernize the public lighting network infrastructure in the city. It will benefit more than 1.9 million inhabitants with better lighting in urban spaces, increasing road safety, reducing energy consumption as well as contributing to an increased sense of security and a reduction in crime.
The selected private partner will be responsible for modernization, efficiency, expansion, operation, and maintenance of 174,000 public lighting points as well as implementation of Telemanagement systems on 29.4% of the roads located within municipality. The concession period for the project is 23 years.
