The Government of Rio Grande do Sul has issued a public notice for the auction for the revitalization of Cais Mauá port PPP. The project is being developed in partnership with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the Revitaliza Consortium.
The project focuses on sustainable development by regenerating a plot of 181,300 sq. m, which belongs to the State and is divided into the warehouse, docks and gasholder. It also foresees the sale of the docks area and the use of resources for the revitalization of other areas, which will be operated by the private sector under a concession regime.
The total estimated investment in the project is approximately BRL355 million (US$68.62 million). Over the course of the 30-year contract, an additional BRL 20.5 million (US$3.96 million) will be spent yearly on operating and maintaining the concession zones.
