The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) in Brazil will auction 22 airports in 2020 in 6th round of airport concessions in three regional blocks defined according to geographic location: North, Central and South. The duration of the concession contracts will be 30 years. The blocks are divided as follows:
SOUTH BLOCK - composed of nine airports: Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, Londrina and Bacacheri, in Paraná; Navegantes and Joinville, in Santa Catarina; and Pelotas, Uruguaiana and Bagé, in Rio Grande do Sul. The minimum initial contribution is BRL 51 million (USD 118 million). The estimated value for the entire concession contract is: BRL 8.9 billion (USD 2.05 billion).
NORTH BLOCK - formed by Manaus, Tabatinga and Tefé, in Amazonas; Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul, in Acre; Porto Velho (RO) and Boa Vista (RR), totaling seven terminals. The minimum initial contribution is BRL 43 million (USD 9.9 million). The estimated value for the entire concession contract is: BRL 4.06 billion (USD 935 million).
CENTRAL BLOCK - with six airports in the cities of Goiânia (GO), Palmas (TO), Teresina (PI), Petrolina (PE), São Luís and Imperatriz, in Maranhão. The minimum initial contribution is BRL 49 million (USD 11 million). The estimated value for the entire concession contract is BRL 4.5 billion (USD 1.04 billion).
Anac also approved the opening of public consultation for social participation in the process of the 6th round of concessions. The legal documents - draft public notice and concession contract for the new round - will be available for contributions for 45 days. Public consultation documents can be found here . According to the rules the same bidder may take the three blocks and there is no participation by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero). The concessionaire must have an airport operator in the consortium with, at least, 15% of ownership interest and experience of 1 year in the processing of at least 1 million passengers for the central north blocks, and 5 million passengers for the south block.
