Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) has announced plans to auction the road sections of BR-381/MG and BR-262/MG in February 2022 in Brazil.
The project involves the concession of 686.10 km of the road, consisting of a stretch BR-381/MG, starting in Belo Horizonte/MG, at the junction with BR-262/MG until the junction with the BR-116/MG, and a stretch of BR-262/MG, between the junction with BR-381/MG, as well as a stretch of BR-262/ES, between the ES/MG border. The project will increase the length of the roads up to 670.64 km and includes recovery, operation, maintenance, monitoring, conservation, implementation of improvements and maintenance of the roads.
The concession period will be 30 years, renewable for another 5 years. The estimated investment is around BRL7.37 billion (US$1.31 billion) and operating costs of around BRL6.03 billion (US$1.07 billion). The project aims to improve the safety and comfort of road users.
