The Intermunicipal Consortium for Regional Development of the Rio Grande Valley (Convale) in Minas Gerais, Brazil has launched a tender notice seeking a private partner to provide solid waste management services for eight municipalities in the state. The service will cover cities of Água Comprida, Campo Florido, Conceição das Alagoas, Delta, Planura, Sacramento, Uberaba and Veríssimo, benefiting approximately 430,000 inhabitants.
The private partner will be responsible for the collection, transportation, transshipment and treatment of household waste as well as disposal of solid waste and cleaning of disposal locations. The estimated investment value of the project is BRL163 million (US$32.54 million) with a concession period of 30 years.
