The Municipality of Erechim has launched a tender notice seeking a private partner for the development of sanitation services in Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
The selected private partner will be responsible for the design, construction, improvements, expansion, revision, operation and maintenance of the sanitation system. Additionally, the private partner will be involved in the organizational systems management and products and services marketing. The project aims to provide basic water supply and sanitation services to approximately 90% of the municipality´s inhabitants.
The estimated investment value of the project is BRL2.6 billion (US$538 million) over its concession period of 30 years. BRL255 million (US$52.81 million) investment is planned for the implementation of wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, while BRL177 million (US$36.66 million) investment is planned for the implementation of water supply and distribution infrastructure.
