The Municipality of Balsas in Maranhao, Brazil has launched a tender notice seeking a private partner to deliver the city bus network.
The project includes a 65 km long network that will provide services along the Grande Circular line as well as routes with 32 km on the outward route and 33 km on the return route. The route has been outlined in the technical and economic feasibility study of the Municipal Collective Transport System.
The concession period for the project is 20 years, with the opportunity to renew for the same period. The city bus network aims to provide public transportation, reduce traffic and minimize the number of accidents in the city.
