The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) in association with the Government of Ceará in Brazil has launched a public consultation for sewerage concession.
The project is being procured under a public-private partnership (PPP) utilizing expropriation, execution, improvements, operation, and maintenance model. It involves the development of sewerage and ancillary services in 23 municipalities located in the metropolition region of Fortaleza and Cariri.
Estimated investment value for the project is BRL7 billion (US$1.21 billion) with a concession period of 30 years. The project aims to provide services to approximately 4.3 million inhabitants covering 95% of the region. The public consultation is open until January 15, 2022.
