The Government of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil with support from National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has launched a public consultation for the Erechim prison complex PPP project.
The project involves the construction, equipping and maintenance of a model prison complex with at least 1,200 spaces in two closed units with 600 spaces each. The project is expected to attract around BRL157 million (US$29.83 million) in investments within the first two years of its 35 years long concession period.
The local public can find out about the details of the project and offer contributions until February 26, 2022. The bidding is expected to take place at the beginning of the second half of 2022.
