Brazil launches a tender notice for coastal crossing system

The state government of Sao Paulo in Brazil has launched a tender notice seeking bids from private partners for the development of a coastal crossing ferry system. The concession involves the provision of service along following waterways as well as 3 shipyards, 34 vessels and 14 floating platforms.

  1. North Coast: São Sebastião – Ilha Bela crossing;
  2. Central Coast: Santos – Vicente de Carvalho crossing; Santos – Guarujá crossing; Bertioga – Guarujá crossing;
  3. South Coast: Cananéia – Ilha Comprida crossing; Iguape – Juréia crossing; Cananéia – Mainland crossing; Cananéia – Ariri crossing;

The concession period for the project is 30 years. The estimated investment amount is BRL272 million (US$48.22 million).
