Aeropart Participações Aeroportuárias S/A won the auction for the São José dos Campos airport concession in Brazil with a bid of BRL16.15 million (US$3.17 million) in grants to the municipality.
The airport concession involves operation and maintenance of airport infrastructure as well as expansion of the existing passenger terminal. The airport has the capacity to handle 700,000 passengers and 14,500 tons of cargo per year.
The estimated investment value for the airport is BRL120 million (US$23.72 million) over the concession period of 30 years. Aeropart Participações will also bear the costs for technical studies conducted for the concession.
