Brazil’s national agency of civil aviation (ANAC) has selected three consortia for the operation of 12 airports under the 5th Round of Airports Concession, launched in November 2018.
Spanish airport operator Aena has won the largest and most important block involving the Northeast block airport concession: Recife (Pernambuco state), Maceió (Alagoas), Aracaju (Sergipe), João Pessoa (Paraíba), Campina Grande (Paraíba) and Juazeiro do Norte (Ceará). This block is valued at BRL1900 million (US$498 million).
The Southeastern block, composed of the terminals of Vitoria (Espírito Santo) and Macaé (Rio de Janeiro), was awarded to Zurich Airport Latin America for US$114 million.
Finally the Central West Block airport block (Cuiaba Marechal Rondon Airport, Sinop Airport, Barra do Garcas Airport, Rondonopolis Airport and Alta Floresta Airport) was awarded to Brazilian corsortium Aeoreste for (US$10 million).
The concession packages involves a total investment of US$ 900 million and a concession period of 30 years.
