National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has successfully concluded the auction for public lighting concession of Caruaru municipality in Brazil. The auction was held on February 17, 2022, at Sao Paulo B3 in partnership with the consortium of consultants Luz Brasil formed of Thoreos Consultoria, Tellus-Mater and Tauil & Checker Advogados.
Luz de Caruaru Consortium won the auction for the concession with a bidding grant of BRL388,204.86 (USD77,078.5). The consortium comprises Enel X Brasil SA, MOBIT – Mobilidade Iluminação e Tecnologia Ltda. and Selt Engenharia Ltda. It will be responsible for modernization, expansion and maintenance of the Caruaru's lighting infrastructure including installation of LED lamps at 34,000 light points.
The estimated investment value of the project is BRL105 million (USD20.84 million) for a concession period of 20 years.
