The Government of Brazil has approved and qualified the Waterway Access Channel of the Port Complex of Paranaguá and Antonina in the Investment Partnership Program (PPI). The ports are located in the state of Parana. This is the first concession project for the waterway access infrastructure of Organized Ports in Brazil, and it is estimated that the studies will be completed in early 2022.
The scope of works will cover the functions of port administration, with regard to the management of waterway access infrastructure, seeking to expand, maintain and exploit the access channel to the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina. The estimated investment value for the concession is BRL5 billion (US$967.23 million).
The auction is expected to take place in 2023.
