The Federal Government of Brazil has approved the studies for the BR-040/495/MG/RJ highway concession.
The 470-kilometer stretch of the highway is the main connection between the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. The technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies, prepared by the Empresa de Planejamento e Logística (EPL) were approved by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Infrastructure. These documents will support the next phase of the process, headed by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).
The concession is estimated to have an investment of more than BRL7.2 billion (US$1.3 billion).
