The Viracopos airport concession has obtained the approval of the judicial reorganization plan to resolve the complex's financial crisis of the project. This will resolve the pending debt issue and will open the way for the terminal to start the concession re-bidding process. The re-bidding requests from the concessionaire will be qualified by Anac, the Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC) and the Investment Partnership Program (PPI).
The current concessionaire Aeroportos Brasil will be entitled to compensation before the asset is delivered to the next concessionaire. The company will also remain with the right to discuss the indemnity calculated in accordance with the law, the claims for economic and financial rebalancing through arbitration. The concessionaire can submit a request for re-bid within 15 days after the plan has been ratified.
After approval of the plan, the airport will begin the procedure to obtain authorization for the terminal with the federal government.
