The State Government of Rondonia in Brazil has partnered with National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to carry out structuring the water supply and sanitary sewage concession in the state.
The concession aims to universalize access to water and sewage services within 12 years in 48 municipalities. The project will benefit 1,507 million people. Currently, 53% of the Rondônia population does not have access to treated water and 94% to sewage collection.
BNDES will be responsible for selecting consultants to provide technical services for the modeling of the project. The studies will make a diagnosis of the current situation, evaluate the feasibility of the service concession and propose a model, that will be analyzed by the state government together with the municipalities.
