Bymaro, the Moroccan subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, has won the construction contract to build the Mohammed VI University Teaching Hospital in Rabat.

The Hospital will comprise four six-story buildings and a 25-story tower, covering over 275,000 m2. It will offer modern healthcare and teaching facilities, including 553 beds and 20 operating theatres equipped with the latest medical technology. The hospital will also feature 15 lecture theatres, 72 teaching rooms, and 217 practical workrooms, all fitted with advanced audiovisual technology. Designed by AIA Architects, the hospital will be organized around three key structures:

  1. The tower will house consultations, hospital and university administration areas, and several teaching spaces.
  2. The hospital building will contain technical facilities, emergency services, diagnostic and interventional imaging facilities, intensive care, inpatient wards, and logistics.
  3. The university building will accommodate all lecture theatres.

The project aims to achieve Exceptional HQE certification for its educational components, which includes installing 8,800 m2 of photovoltaic panels generating 2 MWp, meeting over 10% of the site's total energy needs. The Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat marks the third hospital project BYMARO has undertaken in Morocco in the last five years. This follows the completion of the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Bouskoura in 2019 and the ongoing construction of Smart Health Care City in Benguerir.
