Bouygues acquired Equans

Bouygues has announced the completion of its acquisition of Equans.

With the EUR6.1 billion (US$6 billion) acquisition, the business segment comprising Equans and Bouygues Energies & Services will generate approximately EUR17 billion (US$16 billion) in sales, employ approximately 97,000 people in more than 20 countries and open up new opportunities to create new products and services. The deal will boost the Bouygues group's total sales from EUR38 billion (US$37 billion) to nearly EUR51 billion (US$50 billion). The newly formed organization will be a leading force in the multi-tech services market with expertise in electrical engineering, HVAC design, mechanical engineering and robotics, information and telecommunications systems, facility management and smart cities.

The Energies & Services division of the Bouygues Group, which is now part of Bouygues Construction, will retain the Equans name. Equansc's net debt at the acquisition date is EUR400 million (US$394 million) and the total impact on the Group's net debt is EUR6.5 billion (US$6.4 billion), including EUR130 million (US$128 million) paid to Engie on May 12, 2022.
