Bolloré signs agreements for Niamey-Cotonou railway

Bolloré Group, the Government of Niger and the Government of Benin have signed concession agreements for the operation and infrastructure construction fpr the binational Niamey-Cotonou railway project.

The 1050-km railway project will link Cotonou (Benin) and Niamey (Niger) and pass through Dosso and Gaya (Niger) and Parakou (Benin). The construction works started in April 2014 in Niamey, with over 60% completed on the Niamey-Dosso axis.

The project also involves the rehabilitation of the railway line from Cotonou to Parakou and the construction of a new railway between Parakou and Niamey with an initial cost estimated at around EUR1 billion (US$1 billion).
