Metro Company de Bogotá (EMB) in Colombia has taken several steps to protect the project's progress due to coronavirus outbreak. Due to preventive isolation orders decreed in different parts of the world the authority has launched a package of measures to adapt the schedules to the current situation.

In relation to the international tender to select the controller of the works, the six groups that are already shortlisted asked to extend the deadline, alleging difficulties in their countries of origin, both in obtaining the required documentation and in displacing the engineers who structure and sign the offers. The authorities extended the deadline for submitting proposals from April 14, 2020, to May 27, 2020.

The main works for the project awarded to the Chinese consortium composed of China Harbour Engineering and Construction Company (CHEC) and Xi'an Rail Transit Group, cannot start without having an audit. The authorities also suspended the purchase of the properties for the project.
