Bogota announces El Campín stadium renovation project

The Mayor of the city of Bogota in Colombia on 23 of December has announced the El Campín stadium renovation project through the Public-Private Partnership model, which will transform the stadium into a modern sports complex.

The Mayor has stated that the city has received a PPP proposal to renovate the stadium. They have reviewed the project and the pre feseability, made some suggestions and now the project goes to feasibility stage. The proposal is now being evaluated and the final decision will be taken by the next administration.

This PPP project seeks the preparation of studies and definitive designs, financing, environmental management, social management, construction, rehabilitation, improvement, operation, maintenance, administration and reversal of the infrastructure and associated services involved in the El Campín Sports Complex.

The project includes the development and installation of indoor and outdoor sports fields, swimming pools, gyms, sports centers, stages for other sports, public playgrounds. After the extension, the capacity of the stadium will be increased to occupy 60,000 people.

The concession period for the project is 30 years. The estimated investment for the project will be COP 450,000 million (US$ 136.191 million).

The companies behind this PPP proposal are: a Spanish company Lanik, Colombian company Gecar, logistics company Producción de eventos 911 SAS, experts in sports and civil works Balerco, international architecture studio L35 Arquitects, financial and advisory firm Norkfolk Capital Advisors and enternainment industry company Ocesa.
