The Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) has approved the BRL3.64 billion (US$969.7 million) financing to Via Paulista to support the investments foreseen in the Original Investment Plan (POI) of the concession agreement entered into between the company and the Regulatory Agency of Delegated Public Transport Services of the State of São Paulo (ARTESP).
BNDES support, in Project Finance, corresponds to 57% of total investments of BRL6.39 billion (US$1.67 b). In addition to BNDES financing, the project will also have support through the issuance of infrastructure debentures, up to BRL400 million (US$104.27 million), with a total term of eight years. The expectation is that the debentures will be issued soon after contracting with BNDES.
The investments will be made in the road system Itaporanga-Franca, called "Rodovia dos Calçados", whose concession was object of the international competition n ° 05/2016. The concession is valid for 30 years and provides for the first investment cycle for the first ten years of the concession, including the doubling of 275 km of highways, implementation of six toll plazas, 94 km of roadway, 72 km of bicycle paths, among others services.
Via Paulista SA is a Special Purpose Company (SPV) created for the exploration, maintenance and service of users of the road system Itaporanga-Franca, called "Rodovia dos Calçados". In October 2017, Concession Contract No. 0359, signed between Via Paulista and ARTESP, was signed.
