The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has announced the privatization of CeasaMinas in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The transaction involves the sale of shares owned by the CeasaMinas, associated with the grant by the State of Minas General concessions for the use of Producer Free Markets (MLPs). The winner of the auction will own the warehouses of Contagem, Barbacena, Caratinga, Governador Valadares, Juiz de Fora and Uberlândia and will be responsible for administering the MLP in the same regions. The minimum value of CeasaMinas shares is BRL$254 million (US$46 million), its value for free land in Contagem is BRL$169 million (US$30 million) and the joint acquisition of both assets amounts to BRL423 million (US$76 million).
The auction will be held on December 22, 2022 at the B3 headquarters in São Paulo. As a result of the privatization, the Concession of Free Producer Markets in the state of Minas Gerais should receive a minimum investment of BRL29.7 million (US$5.3 million) in infrastructure improvements.
