The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has launched the BNDES Social and Environmental Fund, which will provide BRL100 million (US$19.24 million) to encourage projects aimed at education, environment and generation of employment and income.
BNDES will offer up to one real for each real invested by the private sector in projects related to these areas, amplifying the impact of public resources and engaging non-profit organizations in the actions. The bank's resources will be able to support projects with a budget of BRL200 million (US$38.48 million).
Candidates can already present to the BNDES non-reimbursable support projects in education, environment and employment with a minimum value of BRL5 million (US$0.96 million). All proponents, responsible for operating the projects, must be private non-profit entities. The BNDES' participation will be limited to 50% of the total investment, while the rest must be raised by the proponent through partnerships or own investment.
The deadline to submit the proposals for the first cycle is September 30, 2021. More information can be found here.
