The Nigerian government has commissioned Blue Line of a light rail project in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Lagos Blue Line project is the 1st of 7 planned for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) system that will run for 13 km between Okokomaiko - Marina having 15 electro-diesel trainsets supplied by Chinese rolling stock maker CRRC Dalian. The work was carried out by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in addition a contract was signed with the company to work on the 14 km 2nd phase.
The project is expected to reduce travel time, improve the quality of life of the people, and improve the economy of the state.
The line is expected to enter service sometime in Q1 2023.
