The Management Council of the Public-Private Concessions and Partnerships Program (CGPCPPP) in the Rio Grande do Sul has approved the notice publication process for the concession of 271.5 kilometers of state highways in block 3. The estimated investment value for the concession is BRL3.4 billion (US$598.50 million).
The concession involves the duplication of a 116.4 km highway as well as the construction of 53.96 km of third lanes, 10 km-long bicycle lanes and another 30 km of side roads. The highway will have six toll plazas located in São Sebastião do Caí, Flores da Cunha, Ipê, Capela de Santana, Farroupilha and Carlos Barbosa.
The notice was prepared in partnership with the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES). It will be published by the end of December 2021. The opening of bid envelopes is planned for the end of March 2022.
