BlackRock has completed the acquisition of a 5.02% stake in Sydney Airport. The stake held by BlackRock is valued at approximately AUD1 billion (US$735.35 million). This transaction comes after Sydney Aviation Alliance made an unsolicited proposal to acquire Sydney Airport.
BlackRock has acquired approximately 135.50 million shares in assets, from acquiring shares at AUD5.75 (US$4.22) per share in June 2021 and up to AUD8.30 (US$6.10) per share in September 2021. BlackRock is now the fourth single largest stakeholder in the airport after HSBC Custody, BNP Paribas, and JP Morgan.
