The Government of Catalonia, the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, the city councils of Barcelona, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Esplugues de Llobregat, and the Diputació de Barcelona have signed a binding agreement for the construction of the new health campus of the Hospital Clínic in Catalonia, Spain.
This agreement establishes a collaborative framework among all institutions to advance urban development for the creation of the new campus within the University of Barcelona's (UB) sports services. The Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is a medical facility renowned for its top-tier clinical capabilities and advanced technology. With a strong commitment to university education and scientific research, it stands as one of the most significant healthcare complexes in both the nation and Europe. The upcoming campus, designed to meet the demands of growth, service enhancement, and excellence, will encompass the expansion of the hospital, UB's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and other agreed-upon healthcare, university, scientific, and research facilities. The current location of the hospital in the Eixample neighborhood will retain its healthcare, teaching, research, and innovation services, alongside new municipal amenities and public spaces.
