The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) has received economic and technical bids from Compañía Dominicana de Telecomunicaciones (Claro) and Altice Dominicana for the implementation of 5G networks in the Dominican Republic.
The project involves the development of state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure for the transmission of 5G mobile networks using frequencies in the 700Mhz and 3.5Ghz bands.
Indotel has processed technical offers from both companies and will announce the qualified bidders for the economic offer on September 22, 2021. The authority is planning to open envelop containing economic bids on October 11, 2021.
