Rwanda’s Water and Sanitation Corporation has invited bids without prequalification for the construction of the Ngoma River water supply system, phase 1.
The project will involve the construction of a new water intake on the Ngoma River, a water treatment plant, and a network of pipelines to distribute water to households and businesses in Ngoma. The assignment encompasses 10 sectors of the Nyagatare district as well as two sectors of the Gicumbi district, in the Eastern and Northern Provinces. The project is expected to provide clean and reliable drinking water to over 200,000 people in Ngoma. The project is also expected to have a number of other benefits, including:
The project is part of the government's efforts to achieve universal access to clean water and sanitation by 2030. The project is being funded by the African Development Bank and is expected to be completed in 2024. Proposals must be physically delivered by December 13, 2023.
