The Ministry of Transport in Vietnam has decided to extend the deadline for the Eastern North-South expressway PPP after the project failed to attract companies for the concession. 654 km long Eastern North-South Expressway is divided into 11 sections. 6 of the sections will be funded from the state budget and 5 will be implemented on a PPP basis.
Out of 5 PPP sections, Dien Chau-Bai Vot and Nha Trang-Cam Lam section of the expressway attracted two bidders; Cam Lam-Vinh Hao attracted three bidders while National Highway 45-Nghi Son and Nghi Son-Dien Chau failed to receive any bids.
