Bidders shortlisted for USD2.5 billion Bridge PPP project in Nigeria

The Lagos State Government has announced 3 bidders for Fourth Mainland Bridge PPP project in Lagos, Nigeria.

The US$2.5 billion project, which was designed by Nigerian consultant NLÉ Works, involves the construction and operation of a greenfield tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estates. The 37 km long bridge travels from Abraham Adesanya in Ajah via Owutu/Isawo in Ikorodu to the lagoon beachfront of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. It will feature three toll plazas, 9 interchanges, a 4.5 km lagoon bridge. 

 The three bidders include the following: 

  • Mota-Engil (Nigeria and Africa), China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) Consort;
  • China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) - China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC) joint venture;
  • China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and China Railway Construction Investment Group Co. LTD. (CRCCIG) Consortium.

Representatives from Lagos State Government will choose a preferred bidder for the project. The announcement is expected before the end of 2022.
