Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have shortlisted three teams for advance tunnelling work on the Scarborough Subway Extension project in Toronto. The Scarborough Subway Extension is an approximately 8-kilometre extension of Line 2 from Kennedy Station to McCowan Road/Sheppard Avenue.
Teams were shortlisted based on criteria identified in the Request for Qualifications process that began in March 2020. The shortlisted teams and their prime team members are:

These teams will be invited to respond to an RFP this summer to begin preparing their proposals that detail how they will deliver the project. Upon evaluating the proposals received, IO and Metrolinx expect to award the tunnelling contract in mid-2021.
To expedite work on the project, tunnelling will begin first, to be followed by separate contract for the balance of the work, which includes building the stations, fitting-out the tunnels and installing and commissioning the systems.
