Bidder selected for electricity distribution line privatization in India

Torrent Power Limited has emerged as the preferred bidder for the privatization of power distribution lines located in union territories of Gujarat namely Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu. Torrent Power submitted a bid of INR 5.50 billion (US$ 76.62 million), which was the lowest.

Both union territories have a high concentration of 90% consumers being industrial and commercial units. The privatization is being carried out under the central government's Atma Nirbhar Bharat scheme.
