The Lafayette Parish Council has announced that it has selected four local businesses for a public-private partnership (PPP) to build a new jail and juvenile detention home in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, USA.
Among the selected companies are Johnson Controls, The Lemoine Company, ADG Engineering and GHC Architects. The the project involves the design, build, finance and maintenance of a new parish prison, which will see the moving of prison in downtown Lafayette. Its likely location would be the 1800 block of West Willow Street. Johnson Controls is acting as the head of the funding pooling team. Lafayette Consolidated Government leases the building for 40 years.
The Lafayette County Correctional Center will house at least 1,000 beds for inmates before and after conviction. The juvenile home, which is built on a 20-ac. site between West Willow Street, Hebert Road, Bowers Road and Aster Drive, will have 60-72 beds. Construction is scheduled to be completed in early 2026.
