The governments of Benin and Niger have announced their backing of Chinese involvement in the Niamey-Cotonou railway link between Benin and Niger.
Benin has called on Petrolin and Bollore to withdraw their involvement in the project, to make room for Chinese investment. The project has been stalled due to controversy around the project award.
