The Government of Benin has launched a request for qualification (RFQ) tender for interested companies to develop four solar photovoltaic projects under the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.
The projects are being implemented in the frame of the Millennium Challenge Account-Bénin II (MCA-Benin II) program. The MCA-Benin II program is an initiative that is supported by the US Government and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
The State will be developing solar plants across four cities of Parakou (15 MW), Bohicon (15 MW), Djougou (10 MW), and Natitingou (10 MW). The outputs of the projects will be sold to the country’s state-owned utility Société Beninoise d’Énergie Electrique (SBEE) under a 20-year PPA.
The deadline for the submission of qualifications is on August 19, 2019.
