The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus has announced that the prequalification round for the tender for the delayed M10 motorway upgrade project will open on 1 February.
The private sector, through a public-private partnership (PPP), will design, reconstruct, finance, and maintain five sections of the motorway with a total length of 85.25km. The project is expected to cost an estimated EUR185.8 million (US$211.63 million).
The Ministry plans to prequalify five applicants to submit proposals for the project in the next phase of the tender.
The reconstruction is expected to begin by the fourth quarter of 2020.
The Government of Belarus is planning to launch prequalification for the country's first PPP project, the M10 motorway, in the first quarter of 2019.
