Global PPP infrastructure investment company, Bilfinger Berger Global Infrastructure SICAV (BBGI), has completed the purchase of another 33.3% stakes in the Ohio River Bridges - East End Crossing PPP Project thus, further raising its total stake in the project to 66.6%.
The project is a long term public-private-partnership concession procured by the Indiana Finance Authority for the development, design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a cable-stayed bridge and associated roadway and facilities across the Ohio River, connecting Clark County Indiana and Jefferson County, Kentucky. The bridge is in close proximity to Louisville, Kentucky.
The 12 km infrastructure includes a 762 metres cable-stayed bridge over the Ohio River with two iconic diamond-shaped piers, a 512 metres dual-tube tunnel on the Kentucky approach to the bridge, 19 standard engineering structures and road network and associated infrastructure upgrades. The construction phase was successful in terms of safety, with more than 1,100 days worked without lost-time accident.
