Saudi Arabia has shown interest in a long-term strategic plan with Bangladesh for exploring opportunities in public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Bangladesh expects huge investments from the 29 investors of the Saudi Ministry of Investment that will come to Dhaka (capital city of Bangladesh).

The three PPP models presented by the Ministry of Shipping in Bangladesh are following:

  1. Chattogram Port Authority;
  2. Container Terminal-2 of Payra Port Authority;
  3. Patenga Container Terminal Project.

The Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia and the PPP Authority of Bangladesh had signed a government-to-government memorandum of understanding (MoU) on October 28, 2021.
