Transport Scotland has reached a settlement with Aberdeen Roads Ltd (a joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Galliford Try) for the claims of extra works for construction of Aberdeen Western Peripheral road. The settlement amounts to GBP 32 million (US$ 41.42 million) for the extra works for the project.
The authority spent several months in the negotiation process, which reached to the conclusion of the settlement. The amount will be paid in cash to the concessionaire.
The project involved the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, a 58km road linking the outer suburbs of Aberdeen, in north-east Scotland.
