The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the start of a pre-qualification (PQ) process for the development of the Sitra Independent Water and Power Project (Sitra IWPP).
The project will have a power capacity of 1200 MW and a seawater desalination capacity of 30 MIGD. It will be awarded on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis, offering a unique opportunity for developers to participate in Bahrain’s energy sector. Local and international developers with experience in similar projects are invited to submit their pre-qualification applications by December 11, 2024.
