The Minister of Public Works, together with the Minister General Secretary of Government, the mayor of Pudahuel, the General Director of Concessions, and the general manager of Vespucio Norte have inspected the installation of the first 4 beams of the Vespucio Norte link with Route 68 in Chile.
The construction of the link between Vespucio Norte and Route 68 involves a US$91 million investment. Begun in March 2022, the project is 50% complete and will be operational by 2025. A key milestone was the start of installing 22 oversized beams, each 35 to 45 m long and weighing 42 tons, which began on April 2024 and will continue through Q4. Built in Talcahuano, these beams are transported to the Metropolitan Region. The project also includes modernizing highway connections and expanding express lanes and local roads around the Américo Vespucio axis in Pudahuel.
