National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq) in Brazil has launched notice seeking private developers for the Fortaleza Maritime Passenger Terminal passenger services development project. Fortaleza Maritime Passenger Terminal is part of Port of Mucuripe in western Brazil. The scope of work includes both the structure intended for boarding and disembarking passengers and the parking area. The terminal will occupy an area of 27,640 m².
The concession period of the project is 25 years, extendable to the limit of 70 years. The lessee will provide fixed installments of BRL 54,435.28 (US$ 13,131). In return, it may charge a ceiling fare of BRL 59.31 (US$ 14.30) for boarding and disembarking passengers and a maximum transit fare of BRL 39.29 (US$ 9.47). The company will also have to make investments of BRL 1.6 million (US$ 0.38 million) in the current structure of the terminal.
The deadline to submit the bids for the project is March 12, 2020.
