Ashghal launches tender for waste treatment facility in Al Wakra and Al Wukair

The State of Qatar through the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) for the development of an Al Wakra & Al Wukair waste treatment facility in Doha under the Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme for 25-year concession term.

The project can accommodate up to 150,000 cubic meters of sewage per day. It includes provision of a terminal Terminal Pump Station, Wakra Sewage Treatment Works and
Treated Sewage Effluent management facilities to produce high-quality Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) and to produce treated sludge that can be disposed of in a landfill, used as fertilizer, or incinerated as needed.

  • Key elements of the proposed Project Scope are listed below:
    Terminal Pump Station (“TPS”), including odour control facility (“OCF”) for the TPS and Main Trunk
    Sewer (MTS-03)
  • Wakra Sewage Treatment Works (“STW”) including primary, secondary, tertiary treatment units,
    sludge treatment and management facilities and odour control units 
  • Treated Sewage Effluent management facilities (TSE Facilities)

The deadline for the submission of documents is on April 7, 2019.
