Arup, a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm, has announced the promotion of John Karn to principal.
The Americas Region board, which oversees operations in the United States, Canada, and Brazil, selects new associates, associate principals, and principals on an annual basis.
John Karn is a civil engineer in our New York office, where he leads the New York Infrastructure Subgroup and Transaction Advice practice. John is also a member of the Americas Infrastructure Practice Executive. He joined the firm in 2004 and has 25 years of experience, including more than a decade at the California Department of Transportation in project development and construction management.
John has led or advised on some of the largest and most complex transportation projects in the Americas Region and brings his unique experience to deliver and advise on major transportation infrastructure. His recent projects include Revised Green Line Extension Program Recommendations for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Maryland's Purple Line light rail transit, and the Indiana Toll Road acquisition.
