Angkasa Pura Aviasi (APA), a JV of GMR Airports Limited (GAL) and Angkasa Pura II (APII), have assumed the operational and management of the Kualanamu airport in Medan, Indonesia.
In addition to operation and management, GMR would provide expansion of infrastructure in order to increase airport capacity from 9 million passengers per year to 17 million passengers per year in Phase I, 30 million passengers per year in Phase II and 42 million passengers per year in Phase III. The scope of work also involves the development of commercial buildings on 200 ha, including theme and logistics parks, factory outlets, trade complexes, and maintenance repair & overhaul (MRO) facilities.
